The Need

The loss of a parent reshapes a child’s entire world.

Beyond grief, children face emotional trauma, food insecurity, disrupted education, unstable housing, and long-term vulnerability — challenges that do not end after the first months of crisis.

Short-term aid alone is not enough. Children need continuity of care, stable relationships, and support that evolves as they grow.

What is NOOR?

NOOR — meaning “light” — is a steady source of care, protection, and opportunity for children navigating profound loss.

NOOR supports 20,000+ children in Gaza who have lost one or both parents, making it one of the largest and most comprehensive long-term child support programs of its kind.

Unlike emergency-only aid, NOOR stays with children from early childhood through age 18 — and often into higher education or vocational training — helping them grow not just to survive, but to build capable, resilient futures with dignity.

What Makes
NOOR Different

NOOR is built on a true long-term care model — delivered at scale:

  • Care evolves from early childhood through adolescence and adulthood
  • Educational support adjusts as academic needs change
  • Psychosocial care responds to trauma over time — not just in moments of crisis
  • Families and caregivers are supported so stability surrounds the child

With 20,000+ children supported in Gaza, NOOR is one of the only programs delivering this level of sustained, comprehensive care for orphaned and vulnerable children at this scale.

Through long-term support and broad reach, we ensure no child is left behind — they are accompanied at every stage of development.
